INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUPER-SLIDE® OFF-ROAD LINERS

Before you start, you will need the following tools to complete the installation:

Cardboard pieces Tape Measure Circular Saw 
Marker T-Square Wood Blocks
Drill  1" Spade Bit  Counter Bore Tool
Weld Washers Welder Silicone or Plastic Weld
Mallet Liner Plugs Vise Grips or other grips
Screwdriver    
 

1. The installation begins with area 1 and ends with area 8.  See Picture 1.

2. General Off-Road installation tips: 

 Ø      Double check all measurements before cutting.  Measure twice, cut once.
 Ø      Cut a piece of cardboard to fit the area and trace dimensions to the piece of plastic. 
 Ø      Weld washers should generally be 6” (152 mm) apart and 4” (102 mm) from edge of plastic. 
 Ø      Allow 1/8” (3 mm) between sections for plastic weld or silicone. 
 Ø      Test piece in area before making the final cuts. 
 Ø      Weld washers should be welded from the center towards the edges.

3. Area 1

     a. Measure the long side, short side, and the lengths of the side angles.

     b. Transfer dimensions to the piece of plastic.

     c. Cut plastic to the dimensions.

     d. Test in area to ensure proper fit, allow 1/8” (3 mm) for plastic weld or silicone.

     e. Measure 4” (102mm) in from the side of the plastic. 

     f. From that point, mark a spot every 6” (152 mm) around the plastic.

     g. Make additional markings roughly 6” (152 mm) apart inside of the outer markings. See Picture 2.

     h. Install weld washers, follow step #4 for installation instructions.

4. Install the weld washers.  
     a. Set the plastic on the floor. 
     b. Place the wood blocks under the plastic.  With the 1” Spade Bit, drill a pilot hole all the way through the plastic at the marked spots. 
     c. Remove the wood blocks so the plastic lays flat on the floor.  Use the counter bore tool to drill out the holes until the flat part of the bit hits the floor.  Be sure to leave a lip on the inside of the holes.
     d. Put the liner in place for the install, and set the weld washers in the holes.e.       Use a welder to weld the washers to the bed.  Weld from the center of the plastic towards the edges to help prevent any ripples or high spots.  
     e. Allow the welds to cool.  With the mallet, pound the liner plugs into the holes.

5. Area 2 
     a. Measure height and width of the area. 
     b. Cut plastic to dimensions of height and width. 
     c. Test to make sure piece fits into area, allow 1/8” (3 mm) for plastic weld or silicone. 
     d. Measure 4” in from the side of the plastic and: 
    Ø      If coverstrips are used, measure down from the top 10” (254 mm)
               
Ø      If coverstrips are not used, measure down from the top 4” (102 mm) 
     e. From that point, mark a spot every 6” (152 mm) around the plastic. 
     f. Make additional markings roughly 6” (152 mm) apart inside of the outer markings. See Picture 3. 
     g. Install weld washers, follow step #4 for installation instructions. 
    Ø      Install Tip: Use a screwdriver to hold the weld washers in place for the vertical welding.
               
Ø      Install Tip: If the liner plugs don’t stay in place, fill in the holes with silicone over the weld washer.

6. Area 3 & 4 
     a. Follow the same steps as Area 1, Step #3.  

7. Area 5 & 6

     a. Follow the same steps as Area 2, Step #5.

 

8. Area 7

     a. Measure the long side, short side, height and lengths of the side angles.

     h. Install weld washers, follow step #4 for installation instructions.

9. Area 8

     a. Measure height and width of the area.

     b. Cut plastic to dimensions of height and width.

     c. Test in area to ensure proper fit, allow 1/8” (3 mm) for plastic weld or silicone.

     d. Measure 4” (102 mm) in from the side of the plastic.

     e. From that point, mark a spot every 6” (152 mm) around the plastic.

     f. Make additional markings 4” (102 mm) apart inside of the outer markings. See Picture 5.

     g. Install weld washers, follow step #4 for installation instructions.
