Before you purchase your next liner, know what kind of liner you are buying.  All Reprocessed UHMW is not the same.

As a general rule, the cheaper the UHMW product, the cheaper the liner.  Virgin UHMW is the most expensive; as a result, it is used in the most demanding applications.  Reprocessed UHMW is an economical alternative to Virgin UHMW, and it is primarily used in less demanding applications.  Reprocessed UHMW is made by mixing lower priced recycled UHMW with virgin UHMW.  The lower cost recycled UHMW can be recognized by the speckles in the samples.

As you can see by the different amount of speckles in the samples, there is no standard stating what the mix of recycled to virgin should be.  Some manufacturers choose to use more recycled, while others choose to use more virgin.  A liner with more virgin will act more like a virgin liner; it will wear better, last longer, and be able to be used in more demanding applications.  The opposite is true for a liner with more recycled; it will produce a cheaper liner that will wear out faster, need to be replaced more often, and should only be used in less demanding applications.

So, take another look at the samples.  Or, we can mail you a set of our samples, and you can compare them to samples you have.  Look at the consistency and the amount of speckles in each sample.  You can see they don't look the same, and they also won't wear the same.  Not all reprocessed UHMW is the same.
